The road network in the Darwin region is affected by wet
season conditions. Care is advised at river and creek crossings.
Arnhem Highway is open to all traffice care at
Adelaide River flood plains, Wildman River and Mt Bundy.
The Kakadu Highway is open to all traffic with
extreme care due to flash flooding.
Gimbat Road is impassable.
Maningrida Road is impassable to Maningrida.
4WD is recommended for Leaders Creek.
Ports Keats Road is impassable at Daly River Crossing.
Cox Peninsula Road to Mandorah - use extreme caution when travelling on
this road subject to flooding.
Fog Bay Road, use extreme caution as road is subject to flooding at all
crossings.
Bynoe Harbour Access - from Cox Peninsula Road to end of road: Open to
conventional vehicles with extreme care.
Bynoe Harbour Access - from end of road to Boat Ramp is impassable.
Soda Creek on Rockhole Road is 4WD and subject to flash flooding.
Jim Jim Road is impassable due to flooding.
The Magela Crossing on the Oenpelli Road is impassable.
Cahill Crossing that crosses the East Alligator River on the Oenpelli
Road is closed to all vehicles.
Hardy Lagoon Road is now closed.
Marraki track is now impassable due to flooding at river crossing.
Mt Wells Road: is impassable at the McKinlay River crossing and
Saunders creek and at the 12km mark from Foundain Heads Road.
Point Stuart Road at the Swim creek crossing,
please use extreme caution due to wash out.
Oolloo Road open to all traffic with extreme care
at Middle Creek as some seal damage.
Daly River Road is impassable at Tommy's Creek
and Black creek.
Manton River has water over the road, proceed
with extreme care.
Darwin River Road : Please use extreme caution as
water is over floodways and water is flowing very fast, 4WD recommended.
LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK
Access to Litchfield National Park is open via Batchelor. All 4WD
tracks are still closed in Litchfield.
Litchfield Park Road is closed at the Lower Finnis River and 2WD
at point 35km from Batchelor Road.
KAKADU NATIONAL PARK

Cox Peninsula Road has a 20 tonne weight restriction on the unsealed

Namarada Drive has a 20 tonne weight restriction.
Pt Stuart Road has a 10 tonne weight restriction.
Litchfield Park Road via Batchelor as a 20 tonne load restriction from the Upper Finnis
River to the end of the seal.
Litchfield Park Road via Cox Peninsula Road: From Cox Peninsula Road to Kangaroo Flats a
12 tonne weight restriction applies.Between Kangaroo Flats and Lower Finnis an 8 tonne
weight restriction applies.
ROAD WORKS IN PROGRESS
Stuart Highway - South of Manton Dam River Bridge,
work to extend existing overtaking lane. Motorists are advised that speed
restrictions will apply.
Tiger Brennan Drive - Use caution when approaching
work sites.

Gove
The road network in the Gove region is affected by wet season
conditions. Care is advised at river and creek crossings. Local isolated storms may
cause rivers to temporarily flood.
Central Arnhem Road: Between Bulman and Lake Evella the road is impassable due to
flooding of the Godyer and Wilton Rivers. Between Lake Evella and Nhulunbuy the road is
impassable.
Ramingining Road: Between Emu Springs and Ramingining the road is impassable due to
flooding of the 4km and 18km crossings from Central Arnhem Road.
Umbakumba Road: Mngurugu to Umbakumba is open to 4WD with extreme caution. Delays
may occur due to local flooding of creeks.
A permit to use the roads is required from the Northern Land Council.

Katherine
ROAD WORKS:
The road network in the Katherine region is affected by wet
season conditions. Care is advised at river and creek crossings. Local isolated
storms may cause rivers to temporarily flood.
Stuart Highway is now open to all traffic.
Victoria Highway: From Katherine to Victoria River is open to all traffic. Victoria
River to Timber Creek is open with care and has a 42 tonne load limit. From Timber Creek
to the WA border the road is open with a 12 tonne load limit restriciton.
The Central Arnhem Road: from Stuart Highway to Beswick is open with care at floodways.
Buchanan Highway from Stuart Highway to Top Springs is open with care. Top
Springs to the Victoria Highway is impassable at the Dashwood Crossing.
Buntine Highway is open from Willeroo to Top Springs with extreme care at floodways.
From Top Springs to Wave Hill the road is open with care. Wave Hill to the
Western Australian border is open with care at floodways.
Numbulwar Road is impassable.
Roper Highway - from Stuart Highway to Roper Bar is 4WD only the Hells Gate and then
impassable from there on.
Roper Bar to Ngukurr is impassable at the Wilton River Crossing.
Dorisvale/Claravale Road is impassalbe.
The Katherine Low Level Road is closed.
Homestead Road at Mataranka is closed.
John Hauser Drive is closed.
OFFICIAL LOAD LIMIT RESTRICTIONS APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING ROADS:
There is an 4 tonne load restriction from
Arnhem Land Boundary to Gove.
Ryans Bend Road has a 4 tonne load restriction.
Port Roper Road has a 4 tonne gross vehicle mass
load restriction from the intersection with the Nathan Road for the entire length.
There is an 8 tonne load limit restriction on the
Central Arnhem Road from Beswick to Arnhem Land Boundry.
Lajamanu Road has a 4 tonne load limit from
Buntine Highway to Tanami.
Nathan Road has a 4 tonne load limit restriction.
4 Tonne load limit on Gorrie Road from Stuart
Highway to Gorrie Station.
Buntine Highway: From Kalkaringi to Willeroo
Stock Transport only - 7500kg per deck approximately 75% of normal loading.
Victoria Highway: From Victoria River to Timber
Creek has a 42 tonne limit, from Timber Creek to the Western Australia border has a 12
tonne load limit.

Tennant
Creek
The road network in the Tennant Creek region is affected by wet
season conditions. Care is advised at river and creek crossings. Local isolated
storms may cause rivers to temporarily flood.
Careful driving techniques are required for all roads in the Tennant
Creek Region.
Stuart
Highway at Gilbert Swamp, 70 km south of Tennant Creek, please take care as road has flood
damage.
Barkly Highway is open to all traffic.
Tablelands Highway is open, caution is required as floodways are
holding water.
Wollogorang Road, 4WD is recommended, however the road is impassable at
the MacArthur River Crossing. River and creek crossings are holding deep water
and Police would rather people not to use the road due to safety reasons.
Calvert Road is 4WD recommended.
Carpentaria Highway:extreme care is recommended as water is over
floodways. Between Cape Crawford and Borroloola - extreme caution as shoulders are rutted
and floodways are holding water - 4WD recommended.
Careful driving techniques required through the Echo Gorge area as
roads have soft edges.
Kurundi/Epenarra Access Road is open to all traffic extreme care is
recommended.
The following roads are currently impassable: Austral Downs Road,
Murray Downs/ Elkedra Road, Ranken Stock Route, Barkley Stock Route, Davenport-Murchinson
Loop, Mittebah Access Road and Canteen Creek Access Road
Sandover Highway is impassable from Ammeroo to the Queensland border.

There is an 8 tonne gross vehicle mass
limit restriction on Old Bing Bong Dump Road.

Springs
Stuart Highway is 2WD with care.
Plenty Highway is 2WD with care to the Queensland border.
Sandover Highway is 2WD to Ammaroo and then closed to the Queensland
border.
2WD with care is recommended for Lasseter Highway, Mulga Park/Victory
Downs Road, Lurija Road, Ross River Highway, Trephina Gorge Access, Arltunga Road.
Namitjira Drive is open to 2WD to Redbank Gorge, impassable to Gosses Bluff/Larapinta
Drive.
Santa Teresa/Andado Road is 2WD to Allambi, 4WD to Andado and then impassable to New
Crown.
Larapinta Drive (also known as Mereenie Loop) is 2WD with care from Alice Springs to
Mereenie Camp.
4WD is recommended for Rainbow Valley Access, Ringwood Numbery Road,
Ernest Giles Road, Gardens Road, Maryvale Road, Napperby Road, Hugh River Stock Route and
Pine Hill/Coniston Road.
Santa Teresa Road from Allambi to Andado is 4WD recommended.
The Finke Road is 4WD to Finke Community and impassable to Andado.
The Tanami Road is now open to traffic to the Western Australia border
only. Reduced axle loads are reommended.**Please note there is no fuel at Rabbit Flat
Roadhouse**
The following roads are impassable: Chambers Pillar 4x4 Access, New
Crown-Dalhousie Springs, Andado Road, Arapunya Road, Willowra Road, Palm Valley Access
Road, Urandangie Road and Idracowra Road.
